Luckily I never had to use it but I love how simple it is. Few clicks and I’m safe with backups. Apart from hosting backups, but just like in jokes – better have more backups than none.

Backup plugins would be the most guaranteed way to keep your site safe from those errors. Without knowing what causes the error, there is no easy way to prevent an error from occurring
